South Africa’s priorities and regional emergence
Africa Day is a commemoration promoted by the African Union that has spread throughout the rest of the world. This day commemorates the achievements made so far but also the challenges facing the continent in an increasingly unstable international situation. Contrary to what is usually thought, the African continent is not isolated, quite the contrary. The great openness that the continent has with the outside world makes it especially susceptible to these changes, but it has a great capacity to adapt to them. For this reason, on this day we want to commemorate the importance of the continent in the world, the issues of incalculable value that it contributes and are the ones that we hope will continue to contribute over the years. South Africa is one of the greatest powers on the African continent and a fundamental pillar in the leadership of the Southern African region. Their contributions and collaboration with Spain and the European Union are of inestimable value for understanding the continent and facing common challenges.
